Over the past two decades, the members of Chuck Vegas have shared stages, studios, and creative spaces across multiple states including Wisconsin, Alabama, North Carolina, and most recently Illinois. Along the way, they have moved through several distinct musical chapters, from the alt-country roots of Boxelder and the heartfelt harmonies of Dear August to the Americana drive of Yellowhammer Heart and the experimental edge of Perilous Cole. Each project represented a different era, but all were connected by songwriting, collaboration, and a shared musical language.
Chuck Vegas began in 2019 in a small town in the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina as a new creative outlet for Adrienne and Tyler Applegate. Built around Adrienne’s songwriting and Tyler’s drumming, the project brought together decades of musical experience, friendship, and creative partnership.
In 2024, the project expanded when the original recording lineup of Adrienne Applegate, Tyler Applegate, Dan O’Brien, and Douglas Milks reunited to record a new collection of songs. Beginning with a handful of rough tracks written by Adrienne, each musician prepared remotely before coming together at DNA Music Labs in Madison, Wisconsin, to record the album.
After completing the record, Adrienne began building a new live incarnation of Chuck Vegas around the album. Now based in Charleston, Illinois, the band’s current lineup includes Ty Patterson, a multi-instrumentalist contributing washboard, cajón, cymbals, percussion, and vocals, and Ryan Noir on bass, joining Adrienne and Tyler Applegate.
Four states. More than two decades of music. Five albums.
Chuck Vegas arrives not as a reunion, but as the continuation of a story years in the making.
